When should I worry about a side effect?

Most side effects from GLP-1 medications are mild and manageable. But there are warning signs that need attention straight away.

Contact our team within 24 hours if you have

  • Persistent nausea or vomiting that's stopping you eating or drinking
  • Severe constipation lasting more than a few days
  • Injection site reactions that are spreading or getting worse

  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) — possible gallbladder or liver issue

  • Signs of an allergic reaction — swelling of the face, lips, or throat; difficulty breathing; widespread rash
  • Signs of severe dehydration — confusion, very dark urine, dizziness when standing
  • Suicidal thoughts or severe mood changes
  • Severe low blood sugar symptoms — sweating, shaking, confusion, loss of consciousness
