Wegovy is injected once a week, so missing a dose by a day or two is usually nothing to worry about. The right action depends on how late you are.
Less than 2 days late (within 48 hours)
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember, then continue with your usual weekly schedule.
More than 2 days late
Skip the missed dose and take your next dose on your normal day. Do not take two doses to make up for one.
If you've changed your injection day
You can move your weekly injection to a different day as long as your last dose was at least 3 days (72 hours) ago.
If you've missed two weeks or more
Contact our team before injecting. You may need to restart at a lower dose because your tolerance to side effects drops quickly when off the medication. Re-titration is for your safety and reduces the risk of severe nausea or vomiting.
If you take a double dose by accident
Contact 111 or your GP for advice. Watch for severe nausea, vomiting, low blood sugar symptoms (sweating, shaking, confusion), or severe stomach pain.
